This thing is just brilliant, really, especially “Ouka” and “En”. There’s a halting insistence, it feels like it’s lurching along; on “En” especially it feels like the performer is fitted with something which pops and shifts into place with her movements, and the piano itself has some odd device which adds above every note upper harmonic dissonances, and yet the melodies are just so pretty and the doublings of voice so well-employed.
