about
Soukou = the early stages of a sketch of flowers or trees before the drawing is fully completed.
During the making of the album, ‘Dokusho’, he recorded everyday sounds that moved him in some way. And then he ‘sketched’ the sounds by playing them on piano and reed organ.
So, if completed pieces of music are likened to flowers and trees, he created this work which in a sense has grown around them and named it ‘Soukou’.
The naming reflects this collection of short pieces of music that gives a sound to grass swaying in the breeze and a shining water surface.
